Description
When I was 14, I was delighted to get a piercing in my ear and wore an earring with pride. In my mid-twenties, I wanted a second one, went to the jeweler and got one pierced. The staff there were young and inexperienced, the atmosphere was loveless and I was also having a bad day: I felt lonely and abandoned and did the ear piercing to treat myself to something positive.
The hole healed quite well, but I didn't like using it. It was painful, kept growing back and then had to be pierced painfully again and I wasn't happy with it. I didn't like using the first one either because it was uncomfortable, so I let the new one grow over and stopped wearing earrings at all.
Years and decades later (I am now in my mid-fifties), I tried to put on an earring from time to time, but the earlobe swelled up and turned red, it was painful and no longer gave me any pleasure. I also couldn't wear metal necklaces and bracelets or rings any more, it was just so uncomfortable on my skin.
Then I thought to myself: you want to tackle this now. And I tried to see the whole thing as a metal allergy and work with the 5BN to resolve it.
With Ingmar's help, I was able to remember a) the strong rejection of my father when I had my first ear piercing and b) the feeling of abandonment, fear and pain I felt when I had my second ear piercing.
Both situations I worked with, i.e. I went through the questionnaire, Ingmar accompanied me to the cause and then I was finally able to embrace myself with the feelings and loneliness in question and was able to convey to my body that metal itself posed no danger.
Now I am completely pain-free and happy to wear my old earrings again, as well as metal rings, necklaces and bracelets. And I'm planning to have the second ear hole reopened soon so I can wear earrings on both sides. So many thanks to the 5BN and Ingmar's wonderful work!
