Description
When I was about 39, I was sitting at my desk with my back to the window while working when suddenly something stung my left forearm and disappeared out the window before I could figure out what it actually was. I suspected a wasp...
My body went into turmoil; I felt slightly dizzy, my skin all over felt like it was electrified, and my ears swelled shut—a severe allergic reaction that increasingly frightened me.
It was just before noon, so I didn’t wait long and went straight to the company doctor in the neighboring building, who immediately gave me an injection of an antidote. After undergoing a more thorough examination at a dermatology clinic, I had to accept that I was now highly allergic to wasps and bees...
From then on, I usually carried emergency medication with me, but as I knew a bit more about homeopathy, I sought out a doctor who prescribed me highly potent Apis and Ledum. These globules worked very well, just as expected. I used lower potencies—which I always carried with me along with other homeopathic remedies—to treat people who had been stung acutely; fortunately, I myself was spared from being stung over the years, except for a single time.
In 1997, I discovered Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer’s book *Cancer: A Disease of the Soul* in a doctor’s office. I had ample opportunity to read it there. Back home, I ordered the book, for I had no doubt that health and illness could only be understood in this absolutely logical way. About a year later, I found a regular meeting group for “New Medicine,” where I made sure not to miss a single gathering. Aware of these connections, it soon became clear to me that my bee and wasp allergy must have been triggered by a specific experience, and at some point, the story from when I was bathing suddenly came to mind:
I was about 9 years old when I stepped on a bee while playing in the meadow in front of our apartment building. Aside from my severely swollen, painful foot, there was no other reaction.
Actually, my mother should have kept me home—but the neighbor kids had the idea to take me to school in an old stroller that served as a bus for our traffic games. We all thought it was funny, so she didn’t want to spoil our fun and let us go. At school, however, the mood shifted—and fun turned into teasing, laughing at me—bullying at its worst. Limping, sad, and humiliated, I pushed the stroller home alone...
On that day, I must have shifted and stored this humiliation as an allergy (warning program), linked to the sting—and from then on, for over 30 years, been hypersensitive to bees and wasps without realizing it.
Through my visits to the regulars’ table, it had become clear to me that consciously working through such traumatic experiences must resolve the allergy. That working through any kind of conflict is a central point—but how? “Chance” put a book on Meridian Energy Technique (MET) into my hands, and I recognized in it a practical way for me to tackle these issues on my own. I made it a habit to treat myself to long, alkaline baths, with a pen and paper at my side, ready to take notes—and to rummage through my memories. It took some persistence before I remembered this bee story from so long ago. While still in the tub, I worked through my trauma, considering all its various aspects, and since then, as expected, my bee and wasp allergy has disappeared.
